State Flower of New York: Rose

$110

This compelling mixed media work layers a boldly rendered red rose over a vintage New York City street map, creating a striking dialogue between the organic and the cartographic. The rose is constructed from collaged literary text — fragments of prose are visible through the translucent red paint — while fine black ink or thread-like linework defines the flower's spiraling petals with expressive, gestural energy. Dark green painted leaves anchor the composition at the lower corners, contrasting vividly against the map's muted yellows and pale blues. Originals will vary from the posted image. Also available as a mounted print (not framed).
