This captivating mixed media work layers a hand-drawn and painted yucca plant directly atop a vintage New Mexico road map, creating a compelling dialogue between natural flora and human geography. The yucca — the state flower of New Mexico — is rendered with confident black ink outlines and filled with flat, expressive washes of olive and sage green for the spiky radiating leaves, while the tall flowering stalk is adorned with delicate blush pink blooms. The composition is centered and symmetrical, with the plant's dramatic starburst of sword-like leaves commanding the pictorial space. Originals will vary from the posted image. Also available as a mounted print (not framed).
